Well, I’m sure most of you here are familiar enough with classic anime and manga to know that Cyborg 009’s creator, Shotaro Ishinomori, was no stranger to putting controversial and political messages in his children’s cartoons. And his pacifist stance couldn’t be clearer than here. This is easily one of the more chilling and impactful episodes of the series, and probably was one of the reasons it was cancelled after just 26 episodes. But it’s one that still needs to be seen today, what with there being people out there who want to go back to a time that should never happen again. So we hope you enjoy, and hope it makes you think.
