I guess I’ve given Shotaro a bit too much of a hard time when it comes to misogyny. At least this chapter explains it, for this manga at least.

I don’t think he’s more misogyny than any other mangaka from its time, including Tezuka. And when it comes to women as strong main characters, I usually prefer his portrayal of it. Just look at Mylene and Nene from 009-1 and Wild Cat and then Sapphire from Princess Knight, that has the whole “she’s like this because of her boy’s heart” stuff.
Do you who really seems to dislike woman? Mitsuteru Yokoyama. They’re always boring side characters that barely appears on the story. Also, they’re only relevant when it’s the main character’s love interest, like Gin Rei on her debut role from Sono Na Wa 101, nothing like the kick-ass Gin Rei from the Giant Robo OAV.
Good episode,, but being titled “Henshin Ninja Arashi”, is sort of weird he doesn’t change shape in various episodes in a row.
