Thanks for the fast release. Do the animated movie cover the “Fuun Rakanjuku Arc,” or is the movie just a filler.
Damn… This anime’s fucking awesome! thanks guys :)
To be honest, I felt J was expendable — but when Togashi ‘died’, I kind of figured they’d all be coming back. Great work guys!
Any particular reason why you keep translating “Manji” as “Swastika”? They aren’t the same thing.
Date should have used Mukokei Kyosoku to defeat hokuto soukei once and for all. lol
@Rubedo: Simply put, it’s because “Manji” means nothing to English-speaking people. Hokuto no Gun has a strong policy of making translations as easily accessible to English-speaking people as possible. This means NO honorifics except for nicknames, and as few words left untranslated as possible (except for Hokuto attack names).
And actually, they are the same thing. All “swastika” means is an equilateral cross with its arms bent at right-angles, whether facing right or left. While in the West it may be always considered a symbol of Nazism, in the East it’s still a very common symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism. And seeing how Japan has a strong Buddhist tradition, the swastika is a part of Japan’s religious symbolism. All “manji” is is the translation of the Hindu word “swastika.”
@SystematicChaos
But a Swastika is a REVERSED Manji. It’s literally not the same character.
@Rubedo: All “swastika” means is an equilateral cross with its arms bent at right-angles, whether facing right or left.
@ Rubedo:
“The swastika (from Sanskrit स्वस्तिक svastika) is an equilateral cross with its arms bent at right angles, in either right-facing (卐) form or its mirrored left-facing (卍) form. Archaeological evidence of swastika-shaped ornaments dates from the Neolithic period and throughout the Iron Age and Classical Antiquity. It remains widely used in Eastern religions, specifically in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.”

J isn’t expendable! He’s on a quest to become a man, return to USA, and show us that we can pull our own asses out of the recession!
DexeSs: ahahha
Vote for J in 2012!
