Sweet! I thought this series was surely dead but I’m really happy it’s still on-going. I only have to do my final edits for an OAV I did everything for and I’m going to submit it as an application for whatever positions are available.

One of the things I love about early 1970s Toei anime is the amazing color palette and those rich painted backgrounds. You can tell they were really concerned about making these shows appeal to those who had just bought color televisions.
I think Genshi Shonen Ryu is one of the best shows I’ve seen in this regard, the color styling is really beautiful. Thanks to everyone at Hokuto no Gun for finally making this great show available with English subtitles!

Nanto: about the color palette, yeah that´s really amazing what they did. Espescially in this episode with the lake at the evening when they go sleep and the music sets in and everything. Just beautiful.
