Okay, ladies and gents, before we get to some Prince of Persia action, it’s time for me to make an announcement about the future of this project.
For a long time we’ve had our loyal typesetter Kazu handle this series, and it’s all been thanks to his immersive typesetting skills that this series is as fun to read in English as it is. Unfortunately he’s been having a bit of a rough patch these past couple years, mostly health-related so I’m not going to divulge too much personal stuff, but that’s one of the main reasons this has been a weekly release at most. But he’s finally at the point where he can get the help he needs, and I’m hoping that he’ll get his life moving in the direction that he deserves at last. So to help his recovery, I want to take the load off of him as much as possible.
But you Kengan fans have on the whole been, out of the fandoms that I’ve subbed and scanned stuff for, one of the best, most understanding, and appreciative of the work we do. You deserve a lot better than what we’ve been putting out for you. And that’s why things are going to change.
Starting today, we’re going to kick this project into high gear. We’ve enlisted the help of stray, admin of the Kengan Cage Discord server (where I go by Jones M’bones, please don’t ask), who’s been helping me typesetting Sandrovich’s earlier webcomic Fist of the Seeker, and is finally confident enough in typesetting to handle the beast that is Kengan. So she’s going to handle the bulk of the typesetting, with Kazu stepping back into a supporting role, and we might even have other friends step in to help along the way! So expect releases much more frequently than you’ve seen before! Because why sacrifice quality for speed when you can have both? Like I said, you Kengan fans deserve much, much better!
Now, non-Kengan fans, or Kengan fans who like the other stuff we do, don’t worry. Up until now my policy has been to only release one thing a day except on special occasions like our tenth anniversary to give things the time at the top of the page that they deserve, because I honestly believe that all our projects (with some exceptions) are worth that attention. But if I kept to that, Kengan would probably choke out a lot of the things on here. So instead of that, from now on the Kengan releases are going to be piggybacking the other release posts, so Kengan won’t interrupt the releases on here. And Kengan fans, maybe this’ll be a good opportunity to check out some of the other stuff we do.
