Well, what do we have here? Over the past year I’ve been absolutely floored by the reception to our release of the Otoko Ippiki Gaki Daisho manga, particularly for such a classic series. And while of course we’ve been doing what we can to try and get the manga back on track, once the anime was finally given a home release I knew we couldn’t just let it slip by.

So this anime is unique not only for being an adaptation of the original Shonen Jump hit and the grandpappy of delinquent manga/manly manga, but the way it was aired is unlike just about any anime I’ve seen. Instead of taking up a thirty-minute timeslot every week, each episode of the anime is broken up into six parts about six to seven minutes long, which aired over the course of the week. So we’re going to experiment with this kind of release schedule, too. While the first part of each serial will get its own dedicated release post, we’ll be releasing the remaining parts every day this week as a double release with our manga projects, and the sixth part will be released with all parts together in one video. So if you enjoyed this part, stay tuned tomorrow, or come back at the end of the week for the whole thing! However you choose to watch it, enjoy seeing the life and times of Mankichi again!
